How to Change a Room in One Weekend

Can’t stand the thought of looking at your badly-in-need-of-a-makeover living from for one more day?

You don’t have to!

Here are three easy ways that you can update your home this weekend.

Add an accent

Trying painting (or wallpapering!) one wall, rather than a whole room. Or perhaps give those cupboard doors a new look. Focusing on one accent takes less time than say painting a whole room and is a great way to experiment with a new look.

Try stylish shelving

Spend a morning sourcing some new shelving — Target, Homegoods and Pottery Barn are great places to start. If you’re looking for a more bespoke look, check out a timber yard or architectural salvage spot. Just be sure to take careful measurements first!

Give old furniture a new look

There are a million and one ways to update the furniture you already have in your home, from new upholstery to a few coats of paint or new knobs. Don’t underestimate the power of changing just one item in a room. Even new throw pillows and/or a blanket can breathe new life into an old couch.
