One of our clients recently sent us this image and we loved it so much we just had to share! Our client’s daughter, Kylie Mink, created the image for a photography class in school using photos from all of the lighting in their home – how cool is that?!
The lighting Brands include Hudson Valley, Global Views, Arteriors, Corbett, and Restoration Hardware and you’ll notice that all of them are in polished nickel, which is the finish we went with throughout the house. Keeping an material element like this is a great way to keep some consistency although you can see how it’s still interesting because the design varies.
The glass on the fixture in the dining room is Murano glass and made of 56 glass leaves and is *stunning*. The diameter is 33″, which most people would be scared of but there’s really no reason to be! (The fixture is available through Courtney Casteel Home). In all of our designs, we feel lighting is very important, and often people get scared of scale. Going bigger makes a much greater statement.
Using a mixture of materials such as glass, metal, crystals, and fabric shades, add an eclectic feel to the home and the becomes like an art piece in the room. Which one is your favorite?
